as a teacher, you do have to make your own lesson plans we just try to do it on the weekend or before school. not always possible

I go back in less than a week 😭. All teachers are content creators when they make their own lessons 😉. Grateful to have had a summer to focus on my own for a bit at least.

most of my professors already have their lessons because most of them have been there 4+ years at this point, but most of them also teach multiple courses. my ecology based professor (who got his doctorate in the evolution of the arms of salamanders, a very reptile/evolution based guy) for two years in a row had to take over additional courses because two professors left without a replacement like weeks before class started up again. he had to figure out how to teach human physiology when that's not necessarily his field, ON TOP of the 8 or more courses he already across spring and fall semesters. it is TIRING work

The first year is the worst because you are making all the lessons from scratch. Year two you keep the great lessons and only have to remake the ones you tossed. Year five and I have a good solid semester of great lessons.
