i think the main issue here is the phone being on the bed... under the child... they have been telling us for years not to leave phones/laptops etc on soft furnishings/under pillows as they can ignite when they over heat. So glad that the young boy is OK and the house didnt go up in flames.

He’s 11 he should not be allowed his phone in the bedroom at night . I never let my children at that age do that . They all were very lucky the whole house could of gone 😔

Yes plugging it in at night is bad but the issue here is it was on charge in the bed under the child.

sounds like he fell asleep and lay on the phone i always make sure my son plugs in his phone away from his bed so he doesn't fall asleep with the phone parents need to take responsibility for their own children.

An 11yo shouldn’t have a phone, shouldn’t be charging it overnight while an app is running, and shouldn’t be charging in his bed. It is exactly the consequence of his actions
