Local residents in Flowery Branch, Georgia, were trapped in their neighborhood after the road collapsed on July 24. Video filmed by Connor Stine shows Falcon Crest Drive crumbling away into a deep ditch. “I was leaving for work when I had come down the hill and the two gentleman in the video stopped me in time before I got too close to the collapsing road,” Stine told Storyful. “I parked my car and got out and took a video mainly just to explain to my boss that I couldn’t leave my neighborhood but I also sent it to my mom to help spread the word and help others prepare with their families.” The damage came as severe storms were reported in the area, causing flooding and downed trees. “I was genuinely in shock, I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 25 years and nothing this severe has happened. After the video was taken the road had actually fallen apart completely and a tree fell taking out the power line and our gas to the rest of the street. I have power now thanks to Hall County being fast to act with taking down the tree taking out the power. Gas is still out but I have faith they will have it fixed quickly for me and my neighbors,” Stine said. Falcon Crest Drive remained closed on Saturday as crews carried out repairs, reports said.
