I’m not a cop but working armed security I’d say that she took the best opportunity she had rather than waiting for the possibility of him charging her or the crowd or people getting into the line of fire putting more people in danger

if an average adult starts from a complete stop and runs 40–60 feet, a rough estimate of 3–5 seconds is generally reasonable. If they're already moving when you start timing, 2–4 seconds is possible. and she knew this information, she did an amazing job and everyone went home safe to there family.
