While I agree we probably get to visit Lebanon more often, you’re really underestimating what life in the Gulf is like for many of us. You’re only thinking of the people who are well off. Not all of us live the “lux” life you’re talking about. Just because we can visit Lebanon a couple more times than you doesn’t mean our life is easier. And just because there are a lot of Lebanese here doesn’t mean we’re surrounded by our people. Many of us barely have a social circle. We celebrate birthdays, holidays, and family milestones through a screen, just like you. We take care of ourselves when we’re sick. When we have a baby, we’re often forced to put them in daycare at just 45 days old ma3 eno our family is only a “3-hour flight away.” Maybe we don’t experience expatriation the same way you do, but saying we’re “not really expats” is unfair. We understand that you might be struggling more than the rest but please stop minimizing other people’s struggles.
