Simply put, អ្នក is one of Khmer ancient words, also found on Khmer inscription. If you pronounce it the way you spell. It sounds like "នក" , but we don't pronounce that way. We keep pronouncing it like the word "នាក់" and follow the rule from the past. we keep using it until now and there is no change. There is no proper explanation why Cuz all kinds of documents were destroyed during the war again and again in the past 800 years only litle inscription left. 🥰
