This is a small clip from a very long call. The operator ended up taking a message for her mother and called her mother to give it to her. Melissa was unconscious when the call ended I think. The operator must have been so traumatised for a long time after this.

it's a blessing really video phones weren't really a thing in 2001 or else the internet would be full of some very harrowing videos from inside those towers. RIP all those people on that day.

I can't with this operator saying "stay calm" the whole damn time. I know she has to say that, but damn the woman is in panic. She's dying, of course she's not gonna stay calm. You're not in that situation, she can't breathe, she's burning up, there's smoke everywhere and she hears voices. Just imagine yourself in that situation😭😭 poor people

I called a friend's office and they told me the very hot, lots of smoke and they said downstairs security said to stay. Luckily I told them a plane hit the tower get out now, right now before the phone line died. They had no idea. The whole office got out alive, one injury.

I’m sorry but I think it’s so wrong to tell people to wait for rescue. They murdered many people in the Grenfell fire with same shitty advice. If they can walk & breathe then they should be advised of the safest route down

The dispatcher straight up lied to her!😲 She knew they were not to be rescued, that it was impossible to reach them, She knew! And chosed to lie to her🤬

Hard to hear and the controller doesn’t have many options but to keep telling her to stay calm. How could anyone stay calm in that situation, so so sad 😢😢
