Bunker Valentin – Einer der größten Bunker Europas Der „Valentin“-Bunker bei Bremen zählt zu den größten Bunkeranlagen Europas. Er wurde ab 1943 als riesige Produktionsstätte für U-Boote des Typs XXI geplant. Mit über 400 Metern Länge und bis zu 7 Meter dicken Betondecken sollte eine nahezu unzerstörbare Fabrik entstehen. Die Dimensionen zeigen den enormen Aufwand der NS-Rüstungsindustrie. Errichtet wurde der Bunker unter extremen Bedingungen: Tausende Zwangsarbeiter und KZ-Häftlinge wurden eingesetzt, viele überlebten den Bau nicht. Der Ort steht heute auch für dieses Leid. Construction began in 1943, intended as a massive production site for Type XXI submarines. Stretching over 400 meters with roofs up to 7 meters thick, it was designed to be a nearly indestructible factory—highlighting the scale of Nazi war production. It was built under brutal conditions: thousands of forced laborers and concentration camp prisoners were used, and many did not survive. The site stands as a reminder of this suffering.
