Now we continue with the replacement of the oil pump drive belt, which also operates inside the engine oil. • The oil pump belt is just as important as the timing belt. As it wears, belt material can contaminate the lubrication system and eventually clog the oil pickup screen, leading to low oil pressure and severe engine damage. • For that reason, inspecting the oil pickup screen is an essential part of this repair.
