he might be one of the very few characters that actually met the expectations they built for the fanbase. he was sneaked in the very first updates in an event; shortly and ephemeral, filled with mystery. why is he like that, why is Mona terrified, a glimpse into the hostility of the fatui. Then proceeded to give an impecabble backstory that answered our questions, but also started new about the whole world building. he was morally gray, reinforced the perception of evilness in Ei through the cruelty of it (mirroring the heavenly principles), raw and emotional. a redemption arch with a lot of depth. the years they spent building the expectations on him were absolutely worth it. genshin used to be so peak 💔
