Everything you just said was circular and made no sense. Either you like the company or you don’t or like the ip or not. Avowed was a disappointment and they probably should of only put funding into the outer worlds and a small team on grounded but that has changed with changes in management. A year ago everyone’s darling was obsidian and one meh game in avowed means they sink as a studio when they put out a ip in grounded 2 and to some great outer worlds at least pretty solid to most but maybe could of been used maybe avowed’s funding but 3 games in one year a new management and direction could be good but all they needed.

I genuinely feel like Bethesdas ego damaged Starfield more than anything. They were so set on procedural generation, over 1000 planets blah blah. If they had scaled that back and put more into the story and world building it probably would be significantly better.

Shouldn't be a hot take, but I dont think there's a single bad fallout game. However you definitely see the decline in quality in certain aspects as the games went on.

Bethesda… 14 layers of management, meaning people that made a game more than a decade ago, now just vibing out - needing to get other studios to make their games and remaster because they can’t. The people working there literally CANT make a new game, like an updated next gen title… thus, the layoffs. Why have 14 levels of management, if it takes them 10+ years to make something without having to sub the work out to other studios? They got bought, and then just salary sucked doing NOTHING for more than a decade. Yeah nah. I’d let anyone make a fallout at this point. Even the modders do a better job than Bethesda at this point. It’s time

3 was and still is one of the best games ever. 4 is great in many ways. when 76 first came out it was amazing, now it's about the least common denominator. but with starfield feeling like the first deus X in space (20+ year old game) and what train reck NV was I'm worried about the future of the franchise and studio in general

Obsidian hasn’t made a good rpg since NV and even then NV is overhyped, that combined with the fact obsidian just got hit pretty hard by the Xbox layoffs are not good signs at all for this fallout game. At full capacity I wouldn’t even trust obsidian to make a good rpg but now that they aren’t at full capacity and Xbox is gonna be rushing them heavily and more than likely pushing for them to do ANYTHING they possibly can to get the game out faster (AI) this game is not gonna be good
