This occurred in 2017. Larissa Rodriguez. Police began investigating when her boyfriend’s brother called and tipped them off that she and her boyfriend had killed her 4 yo non-verbal son and buried him in their backyard. The child was supposed to have been under the supervision of a social worker but it was discovered that she knew the mother and had been buying food stamp stamps from her and falsifying her reports rather than actually doing her welfare visits. The mother, boyfriend, & social worker were all charged appropriately. Extended family of the boy sued Catholic Charities, the employer of the social worker, for wrongful death and were awarded 12 million.
