I really want to hit the gym, but my Arab family keeps blocking me for illogical reasons—like not wanting me to change clothes outside or worrying about CCTV cameras. The funny thing is, they’ve made hurtful comments about my weight since I was a kid. Trying to compromise, I asked if I could hire an online coach and work out at home, but they refused that too. When I pointed out how unfair it is to expect me to lose weight while shutting down every solution, they just brushed it off and said relying on a gym or coach is a 'sign of weakness.
