@cloudberry810: you take the man out of the city not the city out the man. I find it so weird how some life changing stuff that happens doesn’t really hit you there and then, it comes in waves. It’s strange how you can spend years dreaming about what lies beyond the place where you grew up only to realise the hardest part isn’t going somewhere new it’s actually leaving behind everything that made you who you are . I cannot believe I don’t live in a valley named Quetta anymore surrounded by beautiful mountains and filled with the most hospitable people ever , a place where almost everyone somehow knows everyone, a place where every culture is celebrated so loudly, a city overlooked by many but the people who call it home know that there is simply no other place in the world like our Quetta. Moving to a bigger city where there’s growth and opportunities for you is exciting and all but leaving the place that raised you is not easy and the saddest part is that I didn’t even get to say goodbye so, well: Dear Quetta , thank you for every chapter of my life that you gave me , thank you for the quiet mornings , thank you for the snowy days and the cool breezes of summer nights. I miss the way life felt slower with you, I miss the roads that taught me how to drive, I miss the mountains overlooking the city and most of all I miss the version of myself that only existed with you. Wherever I go from here I promise to carry pieces of you with me in the way I speak , the stories I tell, the food I crave when I’m homesick and the feeling of knowing that there is one place in this world that will always have my heart.
