The cartoon takes place during a time when the main threat was the nomadic tribes of Central Asia and the Mongol-Tatar yoke. Obviously, if they were burning cities and plundering lands at that time, they wouldn't be portrayed as kind and fluffy antiheroes. The first four films are the highest quality in the franchise. I don't think there are any "racist" issues there. Starting with the fifth film, we can already talk about these issues. The Mongols are proud of Genghis Khan, so why can't Russians be proud of how they defeated their enemies?

ох, как они посмели изображать злодеями тех, кто ИСТОРИЧЕСКИ совершал набеги и опустошал земли на руси?) в этих мультфильмах, к слову, всех изображали по-разному. то, что мультфильмы не репрезентуют вылизанную внешность каждого второго, не значит, что изображение расистское 😁👍

They were animating every “non-Russian” that way , not only in cartoon but depicted as stupid stereotype even in movies especially when it comes to central Asians. I’m glad someone finally sees it
