@306.archive: How make 4 faded t-shirts. One of the questions I get asked the most is about my bleach dilution ratio. But for me, the exact ratio isn’t the most important part. I always start with a low concentration because I’m never willing to risk damaging the fabric in a single attempt. Instead, I remove the color slowly, building the fade over multiple passes. A short video can’t show the entire process, but none of my bleach work is ever achieved with just one application. I usually start at around a 1:20 dilution, and if the fabric reacts more aggressively, I’ll begin even weaker, around 1:30. From there, I constantly compare the piece with garments from my archive, adjusting the strength only where needed until I find the fade that looks the most natural and visually balanced. Some people ask why I don’t simply share one “correct” ratio. It’s not because I’m trying to keep it a secret. I’m still learning myself. I’m far from perfect, and I’m constantly experimenting, making mistakes, and improving my process. In the next video, I’ll dive deeper into these decisions and explain the process in a much more technical way. #distressed #reworked #vintagefashion #vintagearchive
