For the amount of money spent, they should really do it as a deposit scheme, if you don't get, then you get the deposit back minus admin fees. You get, you need to pay the full price within 72 hours otherwise the visa is cancelled, and you need to apply again. I just think that is a fairer way

European here. Don't want to sound insensitive, but honest take? If we were 25 again today (my wife and I) we wouldn't chase a Schengen visa. We'd go the other way. East. To Asia. Why? West is coasting. Asia is building. We're not bitter, I was born here, we live here, but we will definitely not die here (hopefully 😉). The momentum isn't in the fading West anymore. And that's just a reality check from someone who's actually lived on 3 continents.

my schengen visa got rejected first time from Switzerland. got approved the 2nd time. then 2 years later i moved permanently to Switzerland 🤡

Don’t give up the setbacks happen in life but never stop doing what you need to do. Go to another country like the UK or Spain is very friendly when it comes to getting entry Visas …Where there’s a will there will be a way. Trust me on that.
