@drdavidmorris: Why do injuries sometimes take longer to recover than expected? Many people assume a few weeks of physical therapy is enough because that's what they're approved for. In reality, recovery depends on the type of tissue involved, your body's healing process, and progressive rehabilitation—not just the calendar. Strength, mobility, and movement patterns often require consistent work well beyond the initial stages of recovery. Learning how rehabilitation supports healing may help you have more informed conversations with your healthcare provider about your recovery plan. 👇 Would you want to know what factors actually influence recovery time? 💬 How long did it take before you truly felt "back to normal" after an injury? #physicaltherapy #injuryrecovery #rehabilitation #sportsmedicine #mobility #orthopedics #jointhealth #murfreesboro #functionalmedicine #magnoliamedicalcenter #rootcause #fyp #viral

No. DPT here. You do NOT need to be seen daily in most cases. You know why? Because PT DOES happen daily, at home. The exercises you receive are tailored to meet your needs and ARE PT. The takeaway should be to DO YOU HOME PROGRAM and don’t simply rely on your PT to make you exercise 2-3x/ week. Comparing real world REHAB to the military or professional sports STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING programs is absurd. When military members need PT, do you know how often we see them? 2-3x/week. Let’s also keep in mind that soldiers and athletes are GETTING PAID a to exercise. It’s literally a part of their jobs. You have to take PTO, miss work or school, or otherwise organize your life around making appointments. Seeing the general population daily is not feasible for most, nor is it truly necessary. Don’t listen to this guy, who is speaking on behalf of PTs, but is also not a PT. While we appreciate the support, the message misses the mark and cannot be endorsed.
