Here’s how ⬇️ ✅ Save this post so you don’t lose it. If you made it past the recruiter stage, congrats - but the hiring manager interview is where most people get disqualified. Not because they can’t do the job. Because they can’t convince the person in the room that they’re the right fit right now. Here’s how to prepare for the hiring manager interview: 1️⃣ Nail your “tell me about yourself” Every hiring manager will ask this - it’s your first impression and your chance to answer half their questions before they ask them. Use the past, present, future structure: what got you here, where you are now, and why this company and this role. Make sure everything ties back to the job description and the gap analysis from part 1. 2️⃣ Prepare for behavioural interview questions Hiring managers use these to assess how you’d behave in real scenarios - look out for “tell me about a time when...” or “give me an example of...”. Pull questions from the gap analysis and the company’s Glassdoor page, then prepare answers using the STAR method: Situation, Task, Action, Result and Learning. Practice out loud - the more specific your answers, the better. If you want a couple of STAR answer examples, just comment STAR below and I’ll send them over. 3️⃣ Prepare strong questions to ask them Aim for 3-5 questions focused on the role and the team. Try things like: “What does success look like in the first three to six months?”, “What are the biggest challenges your team is facing right now?”, or “Looking back a year from now, what would make this a great hire?” - these show you’ve done your research and you’re thinking like someone who already wants to do the job well. Follow @techtalkuk for part 3 where I’ll break down how to nail the team interview. 🔥 PS: Want STARL answer examples? Comment STARL below and I’ll send them over. #jobapplication #jobsearch #jobhunt #interviewprep #interviewtips interviewquestions interview bigtech jobseeker hiringmanager
