id recommend the VIOFO A129 Plus Duo 2K Dual Dash Cam.. it has Supercapacitor Power: Replaces traditional lithium batteries with a supercapacitor for better resistance to extreme hot and cold weather.

the best dashcam is the dashcam you have and use and any-one is better than no-one... even the worst cheapest is better than not having one. do not hesitate... buy a cheap one.

I love my viofo front and rear facing camera. Going strong for four years now. Can’t say that about the three previous (non-viofo) dashcams that barely lasted two years each.

I’m trying to decide because i live in a city with terrible drivers. is 2k good enough for rain and night time to see license plates or should i look at 4k? also should i get a rear camera

Garmin mini is enough for virtually any occasion. Almost invisible, doesn't obstruct the view, etc.
Remember - after car servicing ensure power wire is plugged back to dash cam. They often unplug it and forget to plug back

This infographic is not a reliable dash-cam buying guide. Several specifications are simply wrong.
The IROAD X11 is not 4K + 1080p and does not use STARVIS 2; the standard X11 records 1440p front and rear with Sony IMX335 STARVIS sensors. The BlackVue DR900X-2CH also does not use a STARVIS 2 sensor, and BlackVue now lists it as a discontinued model. The Vantrue E3 cannot record 4K front + 1440p rear + 1080p interior as claimed; its maximum three-channel mode is 1944p + 1080p + 1080p. The Cobra SC400D does support 1440p, but presenting it simply as a “1440p QHD” camera is misleading because its front camera supports 4K.
There is also a more fundamental problem with the chart: resolution alone does not determine dash-cam image quality or license-plate readability. Sensor generation, HDR implementation, bitrate, optics and image processing can produce substantially different results even between cameras using the same sensor.
So the “GOOD/BEST” rankings should not be treated as authoritative. The chart mixes outdated models with incorrect or misleading specifications, which is enough to make the overall comparison unreliable.
