Jesus ended sin on the cross so that all should be saved. Heaven and Hell are both in God because the soul returns to the Father meaning to me that both are the same place but only those who are in the kingdom now experience Heaven. My point is amplified by the beatitudes which point to factors that condition the mind to reject the physical world and offer by contrast an eternal reward and rest for those who are hurting but to those who make their home here ruin. I did not say eternal because it is infact not eternal but rather "forever" meaning until the time is fulfilled. I raise according to the infinate nature of God an automatic re-emination where the energy that was the soul of the unrepentant is sent back out into the world again so that "every knee bows" in time.

The righteous dead went to paradise or Abraham’s bosom. Still technically a part of hell but separate from the place of punishment. This was clear from the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. No man could be born again until after the cross so that is why Jesus gave those in paradise the opportunity to go with him to Heaven. So i have a question ... if some one is in hell ..and we dont pray for them will they stay there ...and if someone is in hell ...and is given a choice to stay in hell or accept God's mercy who would chose their present circumstance or live with Christ if given the opportunity?? Alternatively..you dont beleive that death sends all people to one destination or another ...then we have a middle place ??

As a Catholic I pray for the departed. Sometimes I pray for those that I know who have passed away would have a good death and make it to heaven because God stands outside of time and He can apply the prayers as He sees fit
