@heikoinvests: SARS funded my entire R46,000 tax-free account this year. I didn’t. Link in bio, subscribe to my newsletter for first access to my Rand to Resilience course launching soon‼️ Disclaimer: Educational content only. Not financial advice.
Does it apply if you contribute via employer or it must be a private RA?

this is only good advice for people with bad financial management.... if you getting a refund from SARS it means you have over paid tax throughout the year ... that's essentially an interest free loan to the government.

If my I only contribute to my pension through my employer - I contribute 6k to the pension without any employer contribution does this apply to me or does this mean they already applied the relief ???

Is it really an advantage. If you pay additional money through payroll you immediately see the tax benefits. Because it lowers your annual income meaning lowering your monthly tax. Money in your pocket now. SARS is not stokvel. I don’t think this is good advice

My goal is to get closer to maxing out my RA so I can get to a point where I can also max my TFSA from the tax return. Well done 👏🏾

Does the 27% includes pension that employer and myself contribute? E.g the total of contributions of me&employer is 10%, am I left with 17 to contribute on RA?

We need to stop putting it as though it is free money from SARS. It is your money that you earned.

or jusr reinvest it in your RA

This depends on what you are optimizing for as an RA is locked until 55. For anyone chasing FIRE, this might not be ideal.
