@glucosegoddess_: I get lots of questions about kombucha. So here are some other facts to know about:   Homemade kombucha is also great for your gut microbiome because it's fermented.   The sugar you add to your homemade kombucha recipe during the fermentation process is there to feed the living cultures that do the fermenting. They “eat” most of the sugar during the process, turning it into good stuff like acetic acid, probiotics, and a tiny bit of fizz. So by the time you drink it, there's very little sugar left.   If you opt for store-bought kombucha, check the ingredients list: if you see any fruit juice, honey, cane sugar, brown sugar, agave syrup, date syrup, sucrose... that kombucha is dessert!   There are some 'zero sugar' options available in stores, which contain sweeteners like stevia or monkfruit extract instead of real sugar. These can be better for your glucose levels, but homemade kombucha will always be my go-to option.

the homemade vs store-bought distinction is a really important point, people often think of kombucha as one thing when the ingredient profiles can be completely different
