I do Instacart, DoorDash, Shipt and Uber eats. You are not supposed to tell your insurance company that you do gig work or rideshare. What they don’t know won’t hurt them or you either.

They don’t gotta know im doordashing. I was hit by a deer when I was dashing and I didn’t say nothing to the police who did my accident report and said nothing to insurance that I was out dashing. My car was totaled and had no issue getting my settlement. Simply do not tell them you were dashing, just say you were driving home. I’m not gonna pay extra insurance for something I do part time.

You could buy a cheap car to DoorDash. Literally a $2000 will be fine. It doesn’t have to be a luxury vehicle and don’t hit no one. The person at fault is the liability.

I used to be an insurance agent. If you are doing door dash or anything like that and you don’t have ride sharing coverage and you have an accident it will not be covered. They don’t even have to cover your liability nevermind collision. Basically if you say you’re not doing those things but you are, it’s a misrepresentation on your part and it can void your policy.
