At the age of 17 on way home from work I stopped in arcade and spent the whole 27 quid of my weeks wage , I felt so low , i told my manager that I lost my wages on the bus , following day the staff surprised me with exactly 30 quid as they had a whip-round . That was my first day of gambling and my last .

What I find crazy about the mentality of gambling I could lose £300 one day then win £150 the day after and it’s as if the £150 I lost is written off in my head and I’m just happy I have won £150 crazy it is

I have just gave up gambling after 50 yrs 8 days clean .and tbh I was itching the first 4 days now I know im never going to gamble again .u never ever win even if you win u dont win u end up chasing it till its all gone

It's good you got out that gambling loop, I can see how it could be addictive. I won £3k once online and I remember panicking because I wanted to keep gambling but also I'd never seen that much money at that time. oddly it made me feel sick and I'm glad I walked away. But on looking back I remember the debate if I should keep gambling it.

Gamblers need to realise these machines are there for benefit of the betting company. Your chance of winning on horses is about 1/10 but one soon if those machines is much higher . In my city they offer you a drink and these machines have large seats to get comfy

the amount of times I was under water and needed a miracle to get out of trouble. id have a god run and get that amount and would sigh and smile ...id done it, escaped a world of hurt.....then spent it again , its a sickness for sure

I use to do on line gambling. I never spent excessive amounts of money but £20 here & there soon adds up. One day I phoned my bank & ask for a gambling stop the best thing I ever did. Some days I get an urge but thankfully don't act on it.
