@thaylefae: As a fellow Leo, I couldn’t wait to make this one. Leo is ruled by the Sun, so I wanted this piece to feel warm, radiant, and a little regal. That’s why I gave the lion both a golden crown and a crown of sunflowers—symbols of confidence, vitality, and the solar energy that defines this sign. This illustration was created entirely by hand using layered watercolor paper, watercolor, gouache, cardstock, and chipboard. Every section was individually cut, painted, and assembled, with the mane built feather by feather (or should I say strand by strand 😅) to create depth and dimension.
