Disagree here. In order to process the paperwork for speeding a guard must have your driving licence number in order to attach the penalty points. The guard also has to verify who was driving at the time of the offence. Speed cameras and speed vans are a different beast but guards need to pull you over, you also have the right to see what speed the guard caught you doing.

Radar they have to pull you over. Laser cameras take pictures and no need to pull over.

Almost dogged question. Never mentioned under road traffic act, if under common law or corporate statutes. But the answer given, misleading in so many ways, too much to type into comments section ! Never ever believe a Garda or solicitor, or a Politians. All have self interest in misleading the public.

years ago i was stopped by a garda doing speed trap outside letterkenny garage at hill top i asked to see the gun he told me i wasnt allowed so i asked for his name and number and told him i was going directly to letterkenny station to report him which i did and never heard a word afterwards as i new my speed was 47mph garda shovlin lovely liar
