Lowk ngl I misread the question and did 50 + 50 = 100 miles which is the length of the teach and each train reaches the middle in 1 hour so I got it right doing it wrong but I’m gonna take the win

i got the same answer but I believe I didd a different method that included the distance , speed and time method i had done it like distance divided by time so 50÷100 so it gets 2 min closer every time and the bird covers the same speed as the distance so I did 2 min multiple by 50 ito get 100 im also probably wrong because I forgot how to change the 2 min to hrs which would give me a diff ans

I just did an infinite geometric sum of a ratio 1/3 and it wasn’t to complex as you know it’ll sum to 100

“Without complex calculus” you can calculate an infinite geometric series with just the formula a/(1-r) 😭

did it it's easy juste do 50+25+12.5+...= 100 i used just pure intuition and yeah 1 hour. 100 works I thought about it, but I preferred to see it through to the end.

around about 80 miles? if you don't do the complicated exact math. Because its a closing distance. Every return the gap gets smaller and its an uneven speed distribution between the moving objects. which also move.
