The timing of this video on my FYP is wild. I just got a used singer machine and have been looking for simple patterns to start with but everything seems so blocky. I just got the Rhea dress and the Jessica Slip Dress patterns. Can’t wait to start!

Be decided to start to learn how to sew but the patterns probably make me the most nervous about starting. I don’t have a mannequin, but I’m fat with big breasts and have no idea how to customize patterns to my measurements, let alone see how it would fit. I also just have a hard time understanding patterns, and would love to be able to “see” how a 3D shape looks when flattened so I can maybe even make my own patterns. Especially because I’m mostly looking to sew for costumes and ren faire cosplays. I just have no clue where to start understanding patterns and customizing them
