So what was the point of a second autopsy if the first pathologist was going to keep the organs and his neck structures?

Ligature strangulation is a common cause of death in this nature. My source: every episode in every season of forensic files

Theluncheonlawyer :
The doctor who conducted the second autopsy said, "It is assumed the initial pathologist retained these structures for additional evaluation. The retention of the anterior neck structures during an initial autopsy is a common forensic pathology practice." Now whether people think that SHOULD be common practice is a different question entirely. I certainly would have liked the second doctor to be able to review this evidence.

So clearly guilty as they clearly are hiding what will show what happened to him.

My thing is I wouldn't have done the autopsy until everything is with the body, I'll wait until your report is concluded; I understand the longer the body is out it's decomposing more, it's like they hold the power to say well there is no way to determine a cause of death

So are the people who performed the first autopsy going to send the retained body parts to the independent pathologist for further examination?

If the state lab finds deep bruising or a broken bone in that throat tissue, the "no foul play" narrative from the police will immediately fall apart, and a homicide investigation will begin

And if he passed away face down, why would there be blood pooling or lacerations to the back of his head?

Thank you for your key point about the state of Mississippi’s law enforcement in that area….one word; PATHETIC! When they first found Nolan they automatically assumed “accidental drowning “ without any investigation?! Lack of transparency and follow up with the family…plus legitimate questions about the gps, cell phone, car keys, etc.

Why are yall so fixated on police saying no foul play expected. There were clearly no visual signs of foul play, why is that so hard to comprehend. They still sent his body for autopsy to figure out what happened !

the redness on the back of the head is not from any lacerations or a fractured skull. He has zero bruising. It sounds like he just drowned 😞
