Kids clothes are definitely still available. Old Navy, Gap, Zara, even Walmart sell cute kids clothes. Parents just don’t know how to say no to their kids wearing the same outfit as a 20 something year old influencer.

i got dragged on a different post because i said something similar to this. For reference, i am 23 and i VIVIDLY remember soo many brands being marketed specifically towards like 11-14 yr olds and they just dont exist anymore which is how u end up with girls wearing the same clothes at 13 and 23.

my biggest pet peeve is seeing younger kids wearing clothes are so clearly way too big on them even in the smallest size. like wow it’s almost as if you aren’t supposed to be wearing it. or when moms come up to me and ask what their 9 year old would fit in (i work at american eagle)

I used to work in an elementary school when I was 22. Very weird coming to school in the same sweater as one of my 5th graders. I mean it was a normal cable knit sweater like. Age appropriate for both of us but like. Why we shopping at the same store 😭

i work at free people and a mom returned a swim suit she got for her daughter and asked me if i could tell the design team to make “age appropriate swim suits for 14 year olds” i said babe…. this is an adult woman’s clothing store

Not too woke at all!!!!!!!!! Lots of tweens want to look like adults but its all about how brands cater to that desire. It used to be “here’s a fun age-appropriate spin on something grown up” and now its just “here’s the same thing in smaller sizes”
