Duane
Duane "Keefe D" Davis told police in 2008 about his involvement in Tupac Shakur's shooting and said Sean "Puffy" Combs offered to pay for the murders of Shakur and Death Row Records founder Marion "Suge" Knight, according to testimony Wednesday from a retired Los Angeles police detective. Daryn Dupree was part of the task force that investigated the March 9, 1997, fatal shooting of Christopher "The Notorious B.I.G" Wallace in Los Angeles after Wallace's mother alleged in a 2006 lawsuit that law enforcement agencies were involved in her son's murder. He testified on Wednesday (August 19, day 3) that Davis said Combs "was supposed to have given money to Zip Martin to give to Mr. Davis for payment of the Tupac murder." Davis told detectives "he can rekindle that relationship with Mr. Zip Martin and give him to talk about the money that was given from Sean "Puffy" Combs to Mr. Martin that never got to Mr. Davis," Dupree said. Davis and investigators flew to New York "so Mr. Davis can work undercover to try to rekindle that friendship and business relationship with Zip." Davis tried to meet with Martin at a club, but Martin "passed him off to his nephew to do business with him." "Zip had had cancer or something like that. He was sickly. He said he wasn't in the business no more, something like that. So it didn't work," Dupree said. "At some point, does the LAPD establish whether or not LAPD officers were involved in the murder of Mr. Wallace?" asked Marc DiGiacomo, the chief deputy district attorney in Clark County, Nevada. "We found out that there was not any police officer involved," Dupree answered. You can watch Dupree’s entire testimony on my YouTube channel and Facebook page. #law #court #rap
