My issue has been,“stupid question”. I’d say this before any question, I acted like it disarmed people to be more likely to help me. In reality it made me look stupid, and like I lacked a baseline level of confidence.

Codie, so true! And you can push it further by swapping the negative for something genuinely positive. Instead of apologizing, just lead with the solution. Instead of “I’m the worst,” name something you’re actually great at. Instead of hedging on your idea, say why you believe in it. You don’t have to just remove the self-deprecation, you can replace it with something true and good about yourself.
