Every year, millions of lovers of Imam Hussain (AS) begin their journey from different cities across Iraq and beyond. Many pilgrims start from Najaf and walk nearly 80 kilometers to Karbala, while others travel from Basra and other distant regions, covering hundreds of kilometers on foot. Along the entire route, thousands of mawakib (service camps) provide free food, water, tea, medical care, accommodation, and even transportation to pilgrims. People of all ages come together to serve the visitors of Imam Hussain (AS), seeking blessings and honoring the sacrifice of Karbala.
