@maudsleystrong: A lot of you asked what you should say after my last video, so this one’s for you. None of this is meant to be a script, and it certainly isn’t meant to make anyone feel guilty for saying the wrong thing. Most people are simply trying to help, and when you’re standing in front of someone whose world has just fallen apart, it’s natural to search for words that might somehow make the pain a little lighter. The people who made the biggest difference for me weren’t the ones who always knew exactly what to say, they were the ones who made me feel like I didn’t have to carry my grief by myself. I hope this gives you a little more confidence the next time someone you love needs you because your presence will mean far more than your words ever could #grief #griefjourney
Sometimes everyone has different things and when I lost my mom I hated when anyone mentioned it

What about “it must be very painful, you don’t need to rush the grieving process but take as long as you need to feel it all”

I talked about my husband and told his death story to anyone who would listen, over and over, my closest friends just cried with me. Excellent list x

I just stay there and let them hug me if they want. we all lost someone, it's just some people prioritise others first.

I feel like the,”I don’t have the right words but I care about you” can be applied to a lot of situations, like suicidal ideation, self harm, depression, homelessness, and pretty much any hardship you can experience

bringing dinner helps A LOT!!
Just making a proper meal can be overwhelming when you've just lost someone close. I didn't even feel hungry right after loosing my dad.

Is it really okay to say ”I’m thinking about them too”? I would feel like I am making it about me if I say something like that

I lost my Mom 22 days ago unexpectedly- I just wanted someone to say that f”ing sucks. I was so sick of the my thoughts and prayers are with you. I just wanted someone to mirror my energy and emotions of this being a raw and unstoppable pain.

Better than what I was told. Mom passed and funeral didn’t take place yet boss said “you’ll be fine. You’ll get over it. Just one of those things that happen in life”

The real Tsaritsa :
I am grieving the death of my cat, it sounds stupid but she was about a year old when I was born, out of everyone in my family I was the person she immediately chose, she slept with me in my crib, she waited on a desk that I still have for me to come home, losing her was like losing an older sister that I was always attached to. I don’t say anything to people who are grieving themselves, I actually like getting photos of the person or even animal that they’re grieving and I put them in a book. For example, my dad is still grieving his mother who died about 20 years ago, a few years ago I got a book and a bunch of small photos of her and stuck them all in a book, I gave it to him for Christmas and that was only the second time I saw him cry around me, he ended up telling me that is the best thing I can do for someone who’s grieving and he still looks at the book sometimes, I see it open and next to him when he sleeps sometimes
