For me it was finding a gym buddy. As someone with ADHD, the body doubling of it all helps bc I know I have to go, there’s someone counting on me to be there. (It also helps 1000% that my new job reimburses for gym memberships).

I saw something not too long ago saying “Exercise isn’t a punishment, but a celebration of what your body is capable of.” And that really hit.

I joined a gym that programs everything. Not having to figure out my own workouts was a huge relief mentally.

Maybe not consistent but I have a bicycle and a few shops within walking distance. And now if I need to run to the shops for something small then I’ll just take the bike and go to the shop a little further away, but then the scenery is quite nice so I wander a little further before actually doing the shop. Yes I also have ADHD.

Having a podcast that I only get to listen to when I work out or run! Most post 3-5 times per week which gives you a good schedule!

Weirdly enough, journaling really helped me. Working through a lot of emotional and mental struggles for 15min every morning helped me stay on track with exercise and diet. It also just made me feel better about myself and my journey!

I realized I was treating everyone around me better then I was treating myself. one day I said what would I do for my VERY BEST FRIEND. and then I did that for myself. everyday.

Brother, most consistent thing about me is my inconsistencies. I haven't stepped foot into a gym in years. I don't diet. I have 1 outdoor/active hobby and I don't even do that everyday.

This is not good news but the only time I was ever consistent on working out and saw results was when I had a personal trainer. I didn’t want to go, but I had a person waiting for me at the gym and I had paid them $90 so I had to go…

For me it was when I lived with my mum and we would go for walks together so I had that accountability. I’ve not been able to get that back since moving in with my husband

Back at it to say things and stuff, etc, etc, high protein, no alcohol, only takes about 8-10 minutes to run a mile, grab some dumbbells while you sit and read anything work related/ play games in between matches and hit some pushups and/or crunches. Diet and sleep are HUGE

also, I am inconsistent. but I've been running again. started bybrunning a 5k 6 days in a row 😳 then I took a 1 day break and alternated 1 mile days and 5k days. now I get sad if I don't walk or run.

Small group (max 10) power lifting with a coach scheduled three times a week. The social accountability is exactly what I need. Plus, they tell me exactly what to do. Also, my gym is full of chill folks.

Make it as easy as possible to say yes to working out! Put your running shoes right next to the door, your workout clothes in your car, etc., basically just make it as difficult as possible to say no, hope that’s helpful!

I started working out 4-5 months ago. huge improvement in quality of life/mental health. I have twin toddlers so I go to a gym with child minding. I realized that the easiest time to get fit is right now, because the time will pass anyways. so the time may as well pass while im doing something good for myself!

My consistency in the gym clicked when I decided I wasn’t going to watch TV or doom scroll unless I was on a bike or on the treadmill. This way I’m not sacrificing my hobbies for fitness and can do both at the same time. It worked for about a year before I got inconsistent again lol. But it helped for a bit!
