I'm Greek (not that it matters much). A 10/10? I found that Matt Damon was not a convincing Odysseus. Nolan gave us a great warrior.. but he is not that. He is a cunning, smart, calculating, hedonistic man. We get a glimpse of that (sirens). Agamemnon plays an important part to the story. We don't see any of his family drama.. The dialogue is simply ridiculous at times. I laughed so hard when Telemachus referred to the "Bronze Age" or Greek was being translated. Modern English phrases being thrown around like "fuck off" etc. Final scene choreography was mediocre best. The sound was extremely loud at times, the whole cinema was vibrating. Calypso looked like she came from a Dior add. It's a shame we don't see any Gods other than Athena, as they are so pivotal to the story. Same thematics as Oppenheimer while the Odyssey is more dense. Very choppy film too, cuts all the time. I wanted to like it but it's at best a 6/10. Circe and Eumaeus were great.

genuinly why is it so good? like ive just seen it for the first time and visually its stunning, the cast does a phenomenal job across the board, the music and sounddesign is also great but imo the story isnt really that great. for me Oppenheimer is a better movie and its not really that close. i also think project hail marry has been better this year. idk i never really felt a connection with Odysseues or any of the characters apart from Penelope. like its a good movie no doubt but its a solid 8 at max for me. but maybe i need to rewatch it.

the oddyssey is garbage it has some of the worst dialogue i have ever seen and its a very rushed movie i wanted to walk out of the theatre after 30 minutes
