I understand that sentiment so well. I was a worship leader who was heavily involved in many aspects of my church and acted in a handful of indie Christian films. I needed to set all of it aside, to let it all fall away, in order to be honest with myself and the world. It saved my life. FYI, The image is from one of the films I was in pre-transition. I grew the beard and later cut my hair short for this role. …and no I didn’t usually look like I just greased the underside of a car. The director of this film was sensitive to me having to grow the beard and wanted to be sure that doing so, and cutting my hair, would not cause me to have increased dysphoria. He’s a kindhearted man, who I appreciate very much. 💖
