When your fan is dusty and dirty it can transfer particles that carry germs and bacteria and deposit it on your face which can be inhaled by you and can result in cough catarrh and other disease. So your DR is not entirely wrong but he could have explained the mode/mechanism of this transfer. Pls do well to always keep your fan and AC clean and avoid putting your fan directly facing you or your baby as it can dry your airways resulting in irritation . I hope Kobe is doing good now? Pls ensure his room is well ventilated.heat is not good for kids as it can cause their body temperature to elevate. Be safe.

fan, AC, cold can trigger pneumonia. but it's not the primary cause of pneumonia. if your child is easily prone to pneumonia avoid anything that can carry dust or cold. even the centre rug in your parlour isn't safe for the baby. for someone who has treated pneumonia for more than one year, take my advice
