If you’ve spent months applying for jobs and waiting for someone to choose you, you know how discouraging that process can be. For many divorced former tradwives, it’s even harder because we’ve spent years out of the workforce and don’t always have the resume employers are looking for. That’s one reason I love service-based businesses. Instead of waiting and hoping someone picks you, you can choose yourself. You can solve a problem in your community. You can start with low overhead. You can begin building income while you’re still applying for jobs if that’s the path you want to pursue. The longer I build my own business, the more I realize how much peace comes from creating opportunities instead of waiting for permission. You don’t have to wait to be picked.
