I wish I knew how to better handle this with my bird dogs. I don't want them to lay down when we're out hunting birds (pointers) but I do want them to stay off people.

My dog never calms, just goes back to jumping into people's face. Cries when put in the down or when tethered and just pants the entire time..

Any advice for a dog that’s TOO food motivated? If my dog knows there’s treats awaiting him he won’t listen to anything that’s happening and if I can get him to do a command he immediately gets out of it when the treat is given to him. He also snatches out of my hands and gets my fingers with it😭

Our GWP hates spray bottles. We trained her to not jump on people with it 😅 Our pitty mix is a different story. We had to do this with her and it’s still a work in progress cuz she’s only a couple months old.

All i ever had to do with my dogs was make eye contact, say down and move my hand in a downward motion from my chest to the waist, instead of stepping on the leash. You'd be surprised at how well it works. Its also teachin them a kind of sign language between you and your dog. Where you wont even have to say it, you jus motion it from across the room and theyll do it.

I taught our family dog to sit and let people pass before we continue on and before we cross the street our walks, some days she does better then others she a husky mix and some times the husky brain cell takes over she never jumps on people but she will get the Zoomies and run in circles 😅 we are still working on it. But she does so good 95% of the time

my dog is seven years old and every single time we go for a walk we are in training mode. I’ve actually learned quite a lot because they do still have issues with my dog so I’ll continue watching.
