@stalkers.canada: Marcos Ariel Marinoni of Mississauga, Ontario, has been charged following Peel Regional Police’s Project Mermaid human trafficking investigation, which police say is linked to the street gang MS-13 (Mara Salvatrucha). His co-accused, Carlos Gutierrez of Toronto, Ontario, also faces charges in the case. Police allege Gutierrez used an unauthorized cellphone while in federal custody to communicate with the victim and Marinoni. Investigators allege the pair used threats, intimidation, and manipulation to exploit the victim for financial gain. Following four search warrants in Mississauga and the Collingwood area, Marinoni was charged with 10 offences, including trafficking in persons, firearm offences, and assault with a weapon. Gutierrez faces six related human trafficking charges.
