Yall disagreeing about Adele but it’s true. Her tone is beautiful (very similar tone to Rihanna’s) and that’s one of the main reasons for her success (aside from her master pen), but her vocal technique has been criticized for years. She strains her voice very often and the constant overexertion has led to her canceling shows and having to go in long breaks to heal her voice. Her range is moderate (not bad, but not on the level of great vocalists) and when you really listen to her belting, you can hear the strain and struggle. You can google how experts have connected her poor technique to her constant vocal injuries. Nice tone does not make one a vocalist, not when it lacks proper technique.

Rihanna has quite literally never been able to sing. And if she wasn’t incredibly cool and gorgeous with the ultimate machine behind her, she wouldn’t be famous. Mama can’t even hum on key. Have y’all ever seen that video of her trying to sing “Hero” by Mariah Carey? 😭😂😭

Rihanna is a vocalist. In my lectures she's considered one. Her problem is that she doesn't take care of her voice and she's not consistent. Besides that, she sings ballads very well. All she needs is to stand still and grab a mic.
