Chaol is such a complex character and so interesting being one of the only humans without magic and seeing how he handled that, I’m tired of people hating on chaol 😭 I loved tower of dawn

It’s my favorite book in the entire the Maasverse…which I didn’t realize was a hot take until fandom came for me. Also, perfect Nesryn take

the biggest thing for about this book was the world building, antica the god city, the history of the torre cesme and how the empire formed were delicious tibits of reading and by far yrene chapters were the best especially her emotional turmoil, i do agree the political moments fell flat and the book lacked the explosiveness but i look at it this way we know by the end of eos that aelin is captured so the whole book is just one big moment of tension also if u havent read kingdom of ash yet im not gonna say anything yet but i think it makes perfect sense that tod is placed here for specific reasons that i will say later

Chaol is my fav character from the series. He is so relatable and human. I was tired of the cast of the most powerful people on the continent.

Okay but I LOVED this book 😂 and somehow this review makes it sound like I shouldn’t have while also being completely accurate?? I did tandem read it with Empire of Storms though, and I swear they balance each other out perfectly. The tandem read was SUCH a fun reading experience.

I was ready to hate your take but… I can’t disagree with your analysis. Connective tissue is probably the thing that makes this entire series stand out
