Most of the stuff that made Odysseus the kind of hero he was is taken out. He’s supposed to be as clever as he is strong. His interaction with Polyphemus isn’t the same without him telling him that his name was “Nobody”

Nolan read a version of the odyssey and heard parts of Epic, he was entirely inspired off of a book and the pure mythology of the Greeks dealing with beings out of their reach I’m pretty sure.
