@stalkers.canada: Cameron Alexander Compton of Nanaimo, British Columbia, has been charged with second-degree murder and indignity to human remains in connection with the death of 65-year-old Sherry Shelley. He was arrested on July 20, 2026, after the charges were approved by the B.C. Prosecution Service. Shelley, a Nanaimo grandmother, was reported missing on November 14, 2025. During the investigation, police discovered her body inside a burning vehicle in a wooded area near College Drive and Highway 19. Investigators later classified her death as a stranger homicide. In addition to the murder charge, Compton faces two counts of breaching a non-communication order and one count of attempting to obstruct justice. He appeared in court on July 21, 2026, and remains in custody. Compton was also scheduled to stand trial on unrelated 2025 charges of assault, assault by choking, and assault with a weapon.
