You bring up great points. It took me a long time to get out of the corporate mindset. I am also working on slowing down and being more present. My default is being 5 steps ahead of my current space. I am a “planner “ by nature. It’s definitely a hard habit to break.

Kathy, I think accepting being present or feeling unsettled or lost isn’t limited to retirement. It’s a life long process and may always rear its head from time to time.

I’ve been extremely busy since I retired in March but not in a good way. My husband and my Mom got sick at the same time and both were in hospital and rehab nursing homes. They are now better but I’m still busy with my Mom and her doctors appointments. I’m also keeping my 6 year old grandson a lot. And in the middle of all this, on the blessed days I don’t have to do anything for anyone else, I get a little nervous, anxious.. a little panic about omg am I gonna get depressed??? So I’m still learning as well. I did have a backyard above ground pool put in and it has helped me a lot!!♥️

I’m surprised I’m as busy as I am. I have five grandchildren which I love spending time with and helping out with but also things that I want to do. I’m loving it!
