Sato’s power works pretty different from these other renditions of “imagination” like gremmy or green lantern. While gremmy and green lantern’s power is powered by imagination, they literally conjure whatever they imagine, thus giving them a false sense of safety. They don’t need to “watch snuff video” cuz what’s the point? If I got a sword I’ll just use the sword. Sato has to psychologically damage his opponents, so something like imaging a gun or a sword isn’t gonna help him.

Another version of this archetype (and my personal fav) is the ignorant bliss. The less you know, the more you can imagine and fill in the gaps. My best example is somebody like Too Lily from gachiakuta, with her ability being able to do basically anything she wants, as long as it doesn’t hurt another person. The way she combats this is to simply be ignorant. How can you know if what you do will affect someone down the line if you simply don’t consider it an option? Another person I feel fits this a bit looser is Takaba from jjk, with his being a humor thing rather than ignorance. Love your breakdowns and explanations and thought id share mine!
