@ouroldhouse: One less hiding spot for snakes… and a whole lot of mahogany we couldn’t let go to waste. This deck was too far gone to save, but the wood wasn’t. Instead of sending it to the dumpster, we cleaned up every board and gave it a second life throughout our home. Turns out one rotten deck had a lot more to give. Ah… well… I have an old machine shed with stacks of wood, some dating back to 1992. And yes… I have found a use for several pieces of my extensive collection. But I am 70 now and it takes all darn day to complete one or two tasks. So … I guess my wood collection will be my son’s inheritance.

similarly we reused some mahogany in the soffit of our shed lol it was tongue and groove wainscoating from an old country club
