You forgot to mention two very important safety points. First, if you’re on a gravel or loose surface, make sure you find a firm, stable spot before using the jack. A jack can easily sink or become unstable on soft ground. Second, once you’ve removed the flat tyre, place it underneath the vehicle. If the jack were to fail or slip, the car would rest on the tyre rather than dropping all the way to the ground, reducing the risk of serious injury.
